- 1 7-oz. package spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons Darigold Butter
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup Darigold Cottage Cheese
- 1 pound LEAN ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 15 1/2 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Add butter, cheese and eggs to hot spaghetti. Form mixture into "crust" in a 10-inch pie plate. Microwave on high 2 minutes. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti crust; set aside. Place ground beef in a microwaveable colander and microwave on high for 5 minutes; drain all fat. Add onion and green pepper to ground beef in bowl; microwave on high 2-3 minutes. Stir in spaghetti sauce; microwave, covered, on high 5-7 minutes. Stir; add this mixture to spaghetti crust covered with cottage cheese. Microwave 6-8 minutes, turning once. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Microwave on high 1 minute or until cheese melts.
CONVENTIONAL METHOD: Follow procedure above, using skillet to cook meat on stove, but do not pre-bake spaghetti "crust". Layer ingredients according to instructions. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 20 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top; return to oven for 5 minutes.
